Amphibious Excavators

Scott Equipment Company, L.L.C. is bringing together Volvo Excavators & SwampTrac amphibious undercarriages. These machines are available for rent or sale. Rental rates are bare and all normal rental rules apply (customer is responsible for damages, maintenance, etc.)

SwampTrac Complete Unit
SwampTrac standard excavators feature Volvo excavator upper sections with SwampTrac long reach booms. These units feature SwampTrac design advantages combined with Volvo technology to form a high performance result.
 
SwampTrac Advantages:

• Pontoons—Our pontoons are constructed from a combination of marine grade Core-Ten steel and structural grade steel doublers in high wear areas. Each pontoon is designed with a minimum of three watertight compartments.
• Manhole Access—This allows for access to the watertight compartments for inspection, maintenance and repair. 
• Extendable Pontoons—This allows for less width while transporting.
• Direct "4x4" Final Drive—This proprietary system uses four drive motors, one at each corner, to give the machine superior tracking power. These motors are mounted directly to the main drive shafts. This eliminates the need for additional drive chains and sprockets. This feature also reduces the stress on the track chain providing fewer adjustments and longer life.
• Track Chain—Each pontoon, depending on size, carries two or three strands of heavy duty track chain. Constructed from structural grade steel this chain also has replaceable bushings in each roller that also extend chain life.
• Track Cleats—Fabricated from alloy steel and designed with box construction these cleats offer two distinct advantages over aluminum. First, the material offers more strength  due to its malleable property and the much larger spread between yield and ultimate tensile strength which makes it much less prone to cracking. Second, the design offers larger area for improved floatation and traction while paddling on water or in deep mud terrain.
